This page will cover the 'basic' set of rules and guidelines for a community user and editor's involvement in the wiki to ensure a peaceful and steady growth of the wiki. These basic rules apply to the whole wiki and are definite.
There are very few policies which apply across all Wikia. These can be found on the Central Wiki at Wikia:Category:Policy.
If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to contact an available administrator, who will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Manual of Style
Citiations
Songs are to be cited (Like This), with a link leading to the song. Outside sources should be referenced with a reference from the Insert dropdown.
Categories
Categories are essential to pages, but they must be relevant to those pages. Biased categories such as "best version of the show" or "worst actor" are not allowed.
Spelling of RENT
RENT should be spelled in all capital letters, and with italics.
Canon Policy
There are many adaptations of RENT, some with some variations. Therefore, the wiki has decided to give a policy for canon.
Main Canon
This canon is the original main show, as written by Jonathan Larson. The official last performance of this is also included, as it follows the exact same plot as the original show. These are put under the "Original Broadway Cast" tab.
- RENT
- RENT: Filmed Live on Broadway
- All other versions that are identical to the Broadway version
B-Canon
This canon is the adaptations of RENT, where the plot is similar, but not quite the same as the original show. Each of these get their own tab.
- RENT (2005)
- RENT Live
Non-Canon
This canon is not considered part of RENT, but is covered by the wiki, due to its relevance to the show's development and future. Each of these must have the non-canon template.
- La Boheme and other inspirations
- New York Theatre Workhop production
- Parodies
- Books related to RENT.
Not-Covered
Fanfiction, Tick Tick Boom, and non-related RENT content are not covered by this wiki.
